There can be no mistake : Bergen is wet in every aspect but the beauty of the surrounding nature and the typical building-style make up for the weather. While writing this post we had rain-sun-rain-sun-clouds-rain-sun-apocalyptic rain-sun… We are lodged in a very nice Airbnb high in the surrounding hills with a magnificent view on Bergen.   We went shopping in the local Spar and we are currently enjoying a small Gin-Tonic and a bit of Saint-Emillion (we brought those from Belgium). We also connected our…Continue Reading “Day 4 : We arrived in Bergen!!”

Almost there… the trip to Bergen is enchanting with beautiful views of the fjords and magnificent plays of sunlight and water. During the night we had some huge rain showers but in the morning the sun was back again (but played hide and seek with the clouds). In the morning we had a royal breakfast with view on the fjords, we played cards and “chapeau” on the deck before finally touching down in Norway…

And by Jove…the sun appeared and we had a great dinner at the Lilleheden (a local restaurant very close to the ferry-gates). They have great Greenland Coffee (Kahlua, Tripple Sec, Whiskey and a bit of coffee). After that we took the car on the ferry (quite impressive to drive your car on such a huge boat) and took of for Bergen. More on that tomorrow !

Yup, the rain is back and quite plenty. Funfact at the supercharger in Randers : a gathering of Nimbus-motorbikes https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nimbus_(motorcycle) at a diner that was build in living memory of The King Elvis Presley. Yep, you see strange things in Denmark.

We arrived early so we took our time to visit the centre of Horsens in Denmark. Typical building style and lots of sun so we enjoyed a refreshing drink before returning to the hotel and checking in. Valérie and me did some jogging around the local lake (infested with mosquitoes) but it was fun (we did both 14 km). Some pictures below. and below the proof of Valérie’s jogging :

It looks like a garage sale for Tesla’s here. 16  super chargers and quite well occupied. There is a hamburger joint next to it but for the rest : total nothingness. But hey, the sun is shining so we are satisfied. Our hotel is close by so we will use the free time to visit Horsens and do some jogging to work away yesterday’s eat fest. and maybe just the proof that we entered Denmark 🙂
